I just installed my EdSets 2g (older type) into a new FS-3 Helmet. Using the pouches mounted between my ears and the fabric portion of the cheek pads, there is too much pressure on my ears (not enough room in there). I removed the pouches and placed the speakers behind the fabric and there is now more room, but they do not sound as good.
 
Would the newer ear speakers be thinner than the older style, such that I could mount them in pouches like I originally tried, and maybe not place pressure on my ears? What is the difference in thickness between the older and the newest speakers? I guess I am trying to justify buying the newer speakers.
