 Topic  Open face set?
I have HJC AC 3 for me and my wife. What is the best set to use? Also, I see there are a couple of different choices and I wonder what the differences are. Any one using the sonic boomer?

Also, it appears that all the components are velcro'd in place. My experience using velcro is that it holds for a while then the glue holding the strip finally gives. What I am worried about is sweating and having the glue let go over time. Is this a genuine concern? How does the mic stay in place as you move it around for adjustment? I would think the velcro would let go? Another invalid concern?

Anyone with experience with this issues??

All,

The Boomer is really the only choice for an AC3 openface. There's nowhere to put a pouch or surface mounted mic on an openface, of course, so the boom is the only solution.

Velcro is only used for the speaker mounting. When the surface is cleaned with alcohol, Velcro is very reliable. On the boom and helmet connecor, however, we use 3M Dual Lock, same product that GM, International Harvester and other companies like them use to mount components inside diesel engine compartments, attach body molding and to secure seat covers and other heavy duty applications. Dual Lock can't be compared to Velcro. The adhesive used on it is also much different than Velcro and withstands high temperatures and weather. The only time we get reports of Velcro not sticking well is on Nolan Helmets for our surface mic, and we offer an adhesive primer from 3M for that.

I'm answering this question because our Forums are new and not widely used just yet :)
